Dr. Emmanuelli was born in Ponce, P.R. and grew up in the town of Peñuelas. He studied there until the seventh grade and completed his High School at Colegio Ponceño de Varones in Ponce.

Since 1967 he has been married to Mrs. Madeleine Benvenuti from the city of Yauco. He has a son and and two daughters: Madeleine Sophie, who is married to Dr. Charles Quiles, Juan Ramón, and Sara Elena, who is married to Miguel Ruiz. He has a grandson , Juan Andres and three grandaughters Gabriela Andrea , Sara Sofia and Claudia Isabel.

Dr. Emmanuelli served in the Army and was stationed in San Antonio, Texas, in the Seventh Infantry Division in Korea, and in Fort Dix, New Jersey. He served fifteen years in the National State Guard where he commanded the Third Infantry Battalion in the city of Aguadilla and the Third Brigade of the Military Police in Mayagüez. He was in the Coast Guard Auxiliary for over ten years where he served as Flotilla Commander and Vice Captain of the First Division in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

Dr. Emmanuelli has always liked sports and he has practiced Basketball (Varsity team at Colegio Ponceño, and he played First Category in Ponce and Río Piedras), Volleyball (he played in the Varsity team at the Colegio Ponceño), Soft Ball, Bowling, Tennis (on three occasions he has was part of the Team Tennis that has represented Puerto Rico in the United States in his category), and Golf. He has been chosen to be one of the Gallery of Sports Imortals of the Colegio Ponceño.

Dr. Emmanuelli graduated from the School of Dentistry at the University of Puerto Rico and studied his specialty of Orthodontics at Loyola University in Chicago. There he also completed a Master's degree in Oral Biology. For over 25 years he held a position as Professor at the School of Dentistry at the University of Puerto Rico. He was appointed for 5 years to the Board of Dental Examiners of Puerto Rico. Dr. Emmanuelli has three orthodontic practices in Mayagüez, Aguadilla and Cabo Rojo, where he treats patients with the latest advances in orthodontic treatment including Invisalign aligners and TMJ treatment.

He likes photography, playing the piano, computers and marine navigation. He spends most weekends with his children and family at the coastal town of La Parguera.
